What is Saturday School?
In partnership with the Birmingham African American Family Network, Birmingham Public Schools provides tutoring for students who need help in any grade level, and in any academic area. We ask for a $3 donation to help us provide snacks for the students. Each session begins with a guest motivational speaker and/or a welcoming activity led by the Saturday School coordinators. From about 9:15-10:55, each student will be paired with a tutor. At 10:55, we bring the whole group back together for five minutes to discuss what students learned for the day. We believe firmly in creating a caring community of learners at each and every Saturday School. All K-12 BPS students are welcome to receive tutoring for ALL subject areas. We can’t wait to see you on Saturdays!
